Just Wanna Have Fun Tauranga Activity Programme Pilot

ConneXu teamed up with Tauranga City Council and Greerton Library for a pilot to facilitate a free ‘Just Wanna Have Fun’ Adult Activity Programme in Term 3 of 2026.

Held at the Greerton Library on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 am – 11.15 am, the programme was a free activity and a great way for attendees including ConneXu partners to try something new.

To keep everyone entertained and interested, each week the activity was different. This has included things like:

  • Paper Daffodil Making for Daffodil Day

  • Pacifica Pattern Bookmark Making

  • Bingo

  • Boardgames and Puzzles

  • Brain Buzz Quiz

  • Animal Documentary Watching

  • Lego Building Competitions

  • Sign Language

ConneXu Outcomes Lead Wesley McLay says the partnership with Tauranga City Council and Greerton Library was very positive.

“The relationship was very open, and they were very grateful we partnered with them for the pilot. They can see the potential of working together, and we hope we will be able to offer the programme again in the future,” he says.

“It was a great way to try something new, have fun, meet people, and have a good laugh,” he says.
