Pink Shirt Day 2022

May 2022

Pink Shirt Day in the Bay of Plenty, Written by Karolynne Thompson

This year’s Pink Shirt Day event in the Bay of Plenty was held at Maxwells Road. It was a team effort helping to set up. Despite the weather it was a great turn out of people to come and decorate their shirts and spread the message in their own creative way, to stand up against bullying. It was a safe space for all to come to connect, share their personal stories about bullying, and get support and understanding from others that could relate.
The Pink Shirt Day fashion show was held at The Kollective in Tauranga. It was an opportunity for people to share their own designs, express themselves and spread awareness about bullying. It was a day to celebrate together the diversity and uniqueness we have within ConneXu with some tasty pink food as a bonus prepared especially by Melissa, Bethany and Christel.
It was a great two days had by all sharing the message about an important kaupapa.
