Guy Ockenden

Continuous Improvement Manager

I joined the ConneXu team in 2022 as the Leader of Partnerships and Enablement, bringing with me a background in disability-focused organisations including Parent to Parent and New Zealand Riding for the Disabled. Originally trained as a secondary school teacher, I’ve always been committed to coaching and mentoring, alongside a strong interest in business and organisational processes.

This passion led me to pursue tertiary studies in economics and business, culminating in a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master of Business Administration, awarded with Distinction.

Joining ConneXu was a deliberate choice—driven by the opportunity to work closely with disabled partners and our exceptional team of community facilitators. In my current role as Continuous Improvement Manager, I enjoy collaborating across all levels of the organisation to develop innovative approaches that enhance choice and control in the lives of our disabled partners.

Outside of work, I value time spent with my wife and extended family and continue to support hippotherapy as a committee member for Equi-Potential in Hamilton.
